  • America from the Air

Last Saturday I skimmed past a great NPR program featuring Rick Steves interviewing James S. Jackson, who wrote, we more factually, photographed and published a book called "America from the Air, A Guide to Landscape Along Your Route". The idea behind the book was to educate fliers on what can be seen while flying here in the lower 48. It sticks to the basic main air corridors, and contains a CD Rom which can be used while in the air. I thought the concept was pretty cool, and the book an invaluable resource to those of us who are curious as to what passes below us as we fly. Who knows, someone in Europe can do the same, Asia, etc.

Actually I own a copy of "America from the Air". I bought it at Barnes & Noble last year. I was really fond of the pictures, the photography in that book was amazing. And actually they had photos of Alaska and Hawaii in it, not just the Continental United states.
the 747 will always be superior.
