Avianca to end its partnership with Delta
I guess this comes as no surprise, given the recent announcement of Avianca-TACA group joining Star Alliance as of 2012. United / Continental to become Avianca-TACA news US partner.
I believe we are for some interesting times in the next 2 years; since US-Colombia just signed an open skies agreement, Avianca-TACA and Copa Colombia joining Star Alliance and (hopefully) the long awaited expansion of the Bogota Airport is finally completed.
As I see it (a bit off topic, sorry); the airport expansion is crucial to all these new announcements being succesful. I assume Star hopes Bogota will truly become a (world class) hub.
