  • Air India ending A310 service

Last flight operates 31 May Dammam-Mumbai, the 310-300s had joined AI in 1986, only four were left now plus four other grounded converted freighters. AI was the largest operator of the passenger version at one time.

That's a shame, never seen one in reality but the scheme looked good on it according to pictures.

Is a shame that but im guessing if they are headed for the scrapping torch i have a chance of catching them at Kemble as they usually go there.

I have some AI 313s on film and got a few with my digital last time I flew back to Mumbai. It's an underrated aircraft in my opinion and served AI quite well over the years, especially on regional medium-haul routes, especially the high-density ones between BOM and the middle east, as well as airports like BKK and SIN. It's also a great short-field ops aircraft.
