China Airlines has agreed to wet-lease 2 A330-200 from GECAS for 2 years. The decision was finalized on March 9.
The A330-200 are ex-TAM's. They'll soon arrive Taiwan, painted with CI's livery, and is scheduled to enter service by the end of March.
The lease of 332 will ease the lack of aircraft for the company's aggressive expansion in 2003.
This will helps CI's crew gets familiar with the A330, in which the company has ordered 12 -300 models. It is also a "competition", as rival EVA Air is introducing A332 this June.
A330-200 is scheduled to fly to Sydney and Rome.
