  • PIA adds Chicago O'Hare

Just checking SABRE and found the following flights beginning May 17th.
    PK 795 KHI-ISB-BHX-ORD
    PK 796 ORD-BHX-ISB-KHI
Flight 795/796 operates every Saturday with an A310.

    PK 793 KHI-LHE-BHX-ORD
    PK 794 ORD-BHX-LHE-KHI
Flights 793/794 operates every Wednesday with an A310.

    ORD- Chicago O'Hare
    BHX- Birmingham
    ISB- Islamabad
    LHE- Lahore
    KHI- Karachi

PIA already flies the A310 to Toronto.A rather long journey for an A310.

Seriously, an A310. I would have expected a 747 on such a route.

Wow, great news for ORD spotters! Especially if it actually arrives during daylight hours.

They fly the A310, due to the load factor. They dont have a 747 load for both Toronto and Chicago, however during the summers occasionaly when the load increases, the A310 is replaced by the 747 on the Toronto route.

I have seen PIA 747s a number of times at Pearson International, but come to think of it they were all in the summer months.

Quite sure that 310-300 stops elsewhere en route (LHR or?). I have flown over 4000 miles non stop in an A310-300 including YEG-LGW with the late and missed Wardair Canada, and YTR (CFB Trenton, Ontario)-Zagreb in a CC-137 Polaris, so they are capable of fairly long and thin routes, up to about 5000 miles I think.

Yes, the A310 stops at Birmingham International Airport (BHX) enroute to YYZ , and so it would for ORD as well.

I would look forward to see photos of PIA A310s taken at ORD. PIA A310s are probably the most hardworking and busiest A310s in the world.

That is true. They practicaly run the entire PIA international operation with the exception of UK, Saudia Arabia and the Gulf.
