Lets hope Ariana flies on the 13th!!!

Why wouldn't they fly on the 13th? Is it a Friday or something like that?

In the Muslim world, Friday is a day of rest and worship, which could lead to the cancellation of FG401 for some reasons, hence a78jumper's worry.

Actually it is a Saturday. My concern is that Ariana has been notoriously unreliable lately, in part due to the Haj, and just cancels flights outright, with no excuse at all. I have given myself an extra day in DXB, and will fly out via Sharjah in the UAE if I have to,either on the Thursday or the Sunday.

Got a really good fare on the KLM flights, C$1355 return with insurance. Lets hope Ariana flies on the 13th!!!

This is all a go, I got the Ariana tickets yesterday(US$340), and the KLM ones which I purchased through Expedia.ca arrived in the mail about ten days ago. Another opportunity to ride an MD11, KLMs are OK, but I can not help but think how MD missed the boat on this aircraft in terms of passenger comfort-the interior fittings remind me of a early 1970s DC10, absolutely no effort was made IMHO to update the cabin to an early 90s standard; Airbus products of the same vintage seem a lot more modern.

Interesting statement on the KLM MD.11, which is not an exclusive in its kind and YES MD really missed the boat as I have got this impression with
Korean (91)/ Varig (92)/Delta (9/Swissair (99)/China Eastern (01) and Finnair (03). Going along time let me get this impression more obvious especially those
SR, flying inbound was with a SN 332, just off the factory and fitting shops
MU, part of this trip was flown with stable mate 343s, some people who were travelling with me noticed the spartan looking like MD.11 cabin when compared to a 343. I tried my best to get minds set on the fact that "off course the Eleven looks older, it first flew years before the 343". A sensible reply was ; "Should you say so !"
On the other hand I hid the fact that the mighty tri-jet entered into service a mere two years before the 3Forty.

KLM 428 appears (outbound from Dubai) to have been changed to a 777-200 at the last minute. Sounds like the MD 11 was not too full as they are still trying to sell deeply discounted tickets less than three days to flight time. I'd rather be on 777 any day. Hope I keep my window seat and not get stuck in the middle somewhere.

My next flight will be for my Spring Break vacation

In about two weeks i'll be flying ATL-NAS-ATL on a Delta 757. First time in a long time in Delta (I always fly out of Atlanta, go figure!) and first time ever on a 757.
