  • About spotting locations in HKG/VHHH

    Hello!

I would go to HK in a few weeks, planning to do some plane spotting. Since RWY 07C/25C was closed, 07L/25R used instead, the spotting locations like the repairing area or the mountain could be not enough as 07L/25R is too far. Is there any new/better spotting locations for 07L/25R? And any useful suggestions?

    Thanks very much!

No, since the new northern runway was built on reclaimed land and there is nothing yet except the runway and taxiway system, there is no place you can go to take photos,
    Greetings
    Flo

Oops... even not for the Aisa International Exhibition (am I translating it correctly)? It seems closer to the central line of the north runway.

So where do you guys take photos these days btw?

There is a spot at a park at the Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Tunnel. https://maps.app.goo.gl/8YhbQfRXNWqNaoJ38
It's still quite far away from the planes but it's the only spot for 25R landings. The Asia World Expo is backlit during summer (and it's even further away from the runway than the park so you can't really spot from there either.)

and you will probably need a longer lens... optimally 100-400 or 150-600mm...

please correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm not who you think I am.

          Or perhaps.
