Perhaps because:
1. There are roads on airport property where other traffic is present, thus it may be helpful to have a means to clear that traffic similar to any other road.
2. Airport fire trucks don't only respond to aircraft accidents, in fact, as I'm sure you know, most airport fire agencies spent the majority of their time responding to issues in and around various airport buildings and facilities (terminals, cargo areas, etc). Mostly it's medical calls and fire alarms. Here again warning devices might be helpful. Here's an example:

3. They may have to respond off airport property as well.
Then again, I've only been a medic a little over a year (EMT since 1996), so I probably have no idea what I'm talking about....

I'm not sure that's true. I would say the odds of being hospitalized from CAT on an airplane are greater than catching hospitalization-worthy Covid on an airplane. Or any covid on an airplane, for that matter....

In my experience, only the US (and India) still does shoes and belts....

At the very best, the majority of THOSE WHO WERE POLLED support masks (I'm not even sure that's true but I'm willing to stipulate). As for THOSE WHO ARE ACTUALLY FLYING, mask support appears to hover right around 5% based on observation of ACTUAL BEHAVIOR.
In general, I've never placed much faith in what people say, in polls or otherwise. I find what people actually do to be FAR more indicative....

If this civilization gets brought down by the lack of masks on airplanes, then this civilization had no business existing in the first place....

Oh, come on, it's easy. If the majority wanted the masks to stay in place, then it would stand to reason that the majority of the guests on my flights since the order was lifted would be wearing masks, correct? Or else, where is this "majority"?...

Wouldn't dream of it. Tappin' Jake, Blitzin' Wolf, Andy Vanderbilt, and Fredo possibly not telling the truth? Impossible!...

Nope, the majority actually doesn't, and I know that for a fact. I'll give you one guess on HOW I know....

Excellent question. I spent from January 19, 2020 until February 16, 2021, upgrading my EMT certification to Paramedic (finally, after 26 years of wanting to do so) through Seminole State College in Sanford, FL. That, of course, included clinical experience which in my case was conducted at South Seminole Hospital in Longwood, FL, Central Florida Regional in Sanford, FL, as well as ORMC and neighboring facilities in Orlando, FL. The heaviest part of my clinicals fell on the summer of 2020, when every talking head was forecasting imminent death for everyone in Florida quick and soon, and when FL Governor was being referred to as Gov Death (or some such) etc...
I can only speak to what I saw or, more importantly, what I did NOT see. At NO point did any of the facilities in which I conducted my clinicals come anywhere near the "breaking point". In fact, the ER at ORMC (the largest ER in Central FL with over 120 beds) never had more than 3 (three) suspected CoVid...

I suggest you follow TeeVee's advice and actually read the decision, as I just did. The "Trump-appointed judge" (I guess only presidents you like can appoint judges) explains in pretty good detail why it was the mandate itself that was "destructive precedent" and probably did more damage to the CDC's ability to "protect society" than the vacatur. She remanded the mandate back to the CDC for a "redo". The problem with bad regulations is that they impair or as you might say "hamstring" future regulations, because they cast doubt on the credibility of the agency in question. And you said yourself that the CDC is part of "broken and corrupt government", so they hardly have very large reserves of credibility to spare.
I agree with you more than you realize. The mandate itself was clearly in the realm of politics and not law. Joe asked for a mask mandate, and the CDC obliged him and spit one out less...
