The airline has opted to retire its smaller DC-9 aircraft in favor if the newer, larger McDonnell Douglas MD-88s which were acquired after Delta retired its MD88 fleet in June of 2020. USA Jet was the first airline to take delivery of the passenger to freighter converted MD-88 Nov 7th 2021. The new to USA Jet MD88s can fly the same routes the DC9s could but using less fuel. The average age of USA Jets MD88F fleet is currently 32 years old. USA Jet is headquartered at Michigan’s Willow Run airport and was founded in 1994.
