  • Size's...

    Hi,

A magazine has asked to use one of my pictures. They've asked for it to be sent in a JPEG format, 300dpi 1.5mg. Does anybody have any idea what size 300dpi or how to get that size in Photoshop CS2?

    Thanks,
    Sam

The usual bullshit you get, when a n0ob sends you such a request.

Send your photo at the largest possible resolution, at least at 2500px wide. If you want, you can then select the dpi in your photo editor and put in 300, but make sure, that it only changes the size (in cm, inches, ...) and not the resolution (leave it at 2500px for example).

And then, my favourite: 300 dpi????? What for? But then again, it's the problem of the poor guy in the pre-press department

Simply send in a photo as large as possible.

Just send the original and you'll be fine.

300 dpi is the resolution for print. 72 dpi is resolution on screen.

Whenever I get requests like this I just send them the original and tell them they should be able to adjust to 300dpi themselves.
