1 - has had to much sharpness added to it. (Re: jaggy lines on verticals and horizontals) Also could use the removal of a bit of the dead space on the right of the helicopter to make it more central. Contrast wise, well it looks a bit dark in the blue areas so maybe a little less contrast might be an idea.
2 - As you can see by the shadows of the tree's behind the helicopter you are shooting almost directly into the sun (however low the sun may be this will only occasionally produce a nicely lit photo). Some selective sharpening may be a good idea on this one. I can see that around the nose section and reg it seems somewhat soft, while other areas are over sharp. Again watch out for jaggy lines.
Hope this helps. You may want to post your re-edits here for feedback:

Hello everybody,
I come here for the first time because I'd like to know what's wrong exactly with this photo I submitted 2 days ago. I don't understand "digital manipulation" and "bad motive" so could anyone help me please ? Is it due to the black and white aspect ? Isn't it possible to submit black and white photos taken with a DSLR ?

I've done changes on the following photo to clear the grain (grain in the brighter parts of the sky I suppose...) and show more details in the shadow areas. I hope it's better now ! Could you give me your opinion and advices please ?
Thanks

Pre screen
What is everyone's opinion on these?
Just lately I have had a lot rejected for cropping. I am not sure how to get the sizes right. I am using photoshop elements 5.

They are all nice photos. But this link may help you:

You need to have a ratio between 4:3 and 3:2. I have not used Element 5 but should be roughly similar to CS version. In the crop section just for the widthand height values select 3cm and 2 cm or 4cm and 3cm, respectively for landscape photos. All your photos are not in this range of ratio. Hope this helps you.
Cheers,
Mehdi.
