  • Colombia.

Well. This afternoon I said to somebody, No I'll definitely not watch this soccer match. Which was an incorrect evaluation of myself. Beginning with minute 11 or 12, my TV was on.

This Tuesday morning, I thought by myself, 1:0 for Colombia vs Germany.

I'm a realist. But Colombia was even better than my realism. Colombia wins 2:0 .

And what did I do. I spended applause for Colombia, because I was only wrong by 1 goal with my evaluation of that match. That's what realists do, we spend applause
for the clearly better soccer team: Colombia.

    PS:
Colombia has always been a country which makes me curious, although at least today Bogota is not a LH-B744 destination.
    LH #542 to Bogota, a/c type: LH 340-600 .

    And congrats for this match!

I just wonder if there is a way to directly show a photo from the jp database here in my text,
without that I have to download it first.
Well. It didn't work without that I download it first, but that's probably my mistake.

This is the combination of 2 topics which I like quite much, soccer opponents, and, obviously, The 747.

Avianca since 1994 has become a good Star Alliance Partner.

Although the AV 747 history only reaches from 1976 (B741) to 1995 (B742). That means, Avianca has only joined the Alliance after they had sold all their 747s,
i.e. there exists no photo of an AV 747 with the Star Alliance badge.
The AV 747 history simply is a little bit too short for that.

But Avianca has a history which reaches back to the year 1940. And that's more than I can say about my favorite airline of all times (see my avatar).

'We' only commenced aviation (again) in 1955. So, my respect.

A very good soccer opponent and a very respectable Alliance Partner.

Sorry, but I still have another one, ... the Avianca colors so very much remind me of the reason why I became a jetphotos member. A comparison of colors.
And Avianca owns these colors since 1940?

Scan from paperprint.. D-AERT. Lockheed L-1011-500 Tristar. JetPhotos.com is the biggest database of aviation photographs with over 5 million screened photos online!

The D-AERT Lockheed TriStar L-1011-500 at EDDL Lohausen Intl airport (November 1994).

Where the prototype for these colors is, that's not a question. 1940 (Avianca) vs 1955 (LTU Düsseldorf).

Back then in 2008, when I became a jetphotos member there was a choice of three nicknames for me: DE-B763, LTU Tristar, or... (the rest is aviation history).

Lucky enough, 14 years ago I chose wisely, one of only two a/c types of that list, which still today are in the air. And that sadly enough, is not the LTU Tristar (1973-1996).

The rest is aviation history and jetphotos history.
