6000px to 1280px help

Hi guys,

I have been trying to reduce the size of my photo from 6000px to 1280px and have had no luck with keeping the quality.

Can you guys please give me some advice?

I use Photoshop to edit the photos.
I use a Nikon d3400 as a camera.
I use either a nikor 18-200mm or 70-300mm lense.


Please let me know what you guys think I can do to make the photo better.

How are you resizing your image? I have to think you are following a wrong process because reducing the image size will reduce quality, it has to improve quality. Crop the photo the way that the guidelines state - centering your image, and then in Photoshop, go to image, Image size, and set the values as per the sceen shot. That will not reduce quality.

I am doing that and for some reason, it makes the photos worse.



The photo above has a width of 1280 and at 300ppi



The photo above has a width of 4602px at 300ppi.


Let me know what I can do or if it is an issue with my camera or lense.

I don't get what you are seeing as a quality loss. Just as a side note, that will not be able to be uploaded because of obstruction.
