  • New Pre-Screening Thread - CREW reply only

As the other was getting too big, here is the new one.

    Basic ground rules:

    1. up-load the photo to an imagehoster or other webspace
    2. try to up-load the same size as you want to up-load
    3. watch for possible compression problems arising from your up-load site
    4. post photo in the this thread
    5. wait for a crewmember to reply

    Important information:

    a. photos already up-loaded to the screening queue will not be pre-screened
    b. pre-screening can only offer a tendency on your chance for acceptance and therefore a positive feedback here, does not guarantee acceptance into the db

              1. A bit dark, but otherwise ok
              2. Contrast and color look like issues.

Hi, I see the following issues:

                  1. color (yellow), dark, centering, bad crop/ratio
                  2. dark/contrast, bad crop/ratio
                  3. dark, centering, bad crop/ratio
                  4. contrast
                  5. compression, vignetting, dust spots

Please note that 16x9 is the minimum ratio allowed, and the first three are all well below that.

Hi, I don't mean to sound stupid, but what do you mean by the crop ratio and there being a 16x9 limit? And how can I fix those problems?
                        Thanks,
                        -Braeden

Can't sound stupid if you're asking questions in order to improve

A good place to start would be here: JetPhotos.Net Photo Upload Guidelines

For your specific question, see 1.3 Image Formats

Taking the first of your images above (the DL 757) as an example, its width is 1200 pixels. At a normal 3:2 ratio, the height should therefore be 800 pixels. At the minimum allowable 16:9 ratio, the height needs to be at least 675 pixels. Your image has a height of 599 pixels, which you can see is obviously well below the minimum, and will cause its automatic rejection.

As such please make sure you remove at least the first three from the queue before they are screened, as they will be automatic rejections.

Hello dlowwa, do you think this one is better in terms of contrast and color? thanks

Hi, thanks for the help! I attatched the link below for the DL 757. While I was fixing the crop ratio, I fixed a few of the other things that you recommended I fix. I think I fixed the ratio, but I'm not sure. Is there anything I should fix?
                              Thanks,
                              -Braeden
