Hello,

I'm not a screener, but do have an idea.
Don't know if it's oversharpened, seeing only a couple of jaggies and pretty hard lines, but not that bad.
The lack of contrast is a far bigger issue as there is no direct light on the aircraft. TBH, don't even think it can be fixed.
But maybe the Screening team has other ideas.

At first, I've already understood about the contrast issue.
And sorry to say but, there is a direct light on original RAW file.

But I have some experiences of strange rejection before.
And when appealed,
screener said that he/she could see a shadow under the fuselage.
Therefore, I decided to reduce shadow under the fuselage, around belly as possible as I can.

And at this time,
I've already understood it was my mistake to make around there being flat-light too much
(make it lighter as same as the side of fuselage) to reduce shadow.
And I really understand it is because a lack of my edittig skill.

So I didn't mention about its contrast issue.

Secondly, I just wanted to ask if it is oversharpen or not.
As your advice...yes, it seems little jaggy around registration number.
But I had thought it might be ok or on the borderline.

Anyway, I'm happy to hear, "Don't know if it's oversharpened".

And if it's oversharpen when compared with another accepted photos,
I can reduce sharpness from now on.
I'm sure there's no double-standard on JP.
So, I just wanted to ask and confirm it on this forum.
All I can do is to ask, and then, to obey its regulation.

Another reason to ask here is,
I never received any messages (aka. screeners' comment)
when rejected for these months.

it's not good to give out such a strong phrase

I've read most [editting advice] threads,
and I feel it's a kind of telling phrase by experienced-sreeners,
when they try to make photographer shut up or stop posting.
But it's ok, I'll never upload this photo again.

I don't know your RAW-file of this photo, I judge on the reject you've included,
The reject shows no direct sunlight on the aircraft although there could be flat light on the aircraft indeed.
No direct or flat light will always include contrast issues in my opinion and is also my experience.
I've received contrast rejections for flat and hazy light as well in the past
Just looking at the reject you've included I don't think it can be saved.
Oversharpened is at least borderline in my opinion.

I did not say for nothing and I will repeat it again.

The Screening team can have other ideas,
If so , please follow them and ignore my words,
To make clear, I don't want to pull you know, I just give an opinion and try give you advice

Sharpening looks ok to me. Contrast is the real issue on this one.

First one top of fuselage is blown out; second is not actually underexposed, but the contrast (shadows) is a little too strong.

The appeal feature is exactly meant for that: to appeal a decision and not to ask what to do with a photo. You appealed a decision. You explained, why you think the photo should have been accepted. The senior screener took another look and decided on the appeal, in this case rejecting the appeal. If he agrees with the original, there is not much to add.

If you want to improve your editing skills, post the photo here and ask, how it can be improved, post your reasoning on why you think the photo looks OK.
