Both images would be rejected for compression, color, and soft.

Um... like that one for example? It was accepted, so obviously the centering is ok and can be used as a guide. Try to place as much space above as below the aircraft.

It's actually very easy to centre an aircraft that's climbing. As the example you have posted clearly shows, you simply crop it so the spaces above and below the aircraft are equal.

Here is an example of a photo of mine that recently got accepted where I applied the same principle: https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/9270918

If the quality of the originals is high enough, you could try reprocessing them; they're so heavily compressed it's hard to tell if the quality is there, although the amount of purple fringing I see (especially on the last one) tells me it's likely not.

Not a screener but i'd say both photos will rejected for jpeg compression artefacts. The first photo also show very strong purple fringing on contrasting edges

Besides that, your images are 2048px.
Which is way too big for uploading here.
max is 1920, but I work normally with 1280 and with a very good sharp RAW file at 1600px.

                    Both seems also very soft/blurry.
Maybe the Southwest has a chance with a better edit, but the Alaska is blurry.

                    Best Regards
