    Hello,

    NEW pre-Screening request:

I would like to ask for advice regarding this photo of a helicopter that landend accross the street last Sunday at Engadin Airport.

    - it had recently started snowing - are the snow flakes an issue/reason for rejection ? Given the snow on the hill in the background, in assume that is why there is not much black in the histogram.
    - centering - is the cockpit the part that needs to be centered horizontally ?
    - anything else ?

    Thank and kind regards,
    Christian

Neither the snow nor centering should be an issue, but the lack of light definitely will be. Very likely a rejection for dark/contrast.

Thank for the your advice, I will skip that as an idea for submitting.

Please find two new photos I kindly ask you to review:

        1) SWISS: too intese colours (the light at half past noon was quite intese) ? Too much contrast ?
        2) D-AHOI: Lack of contrast ? Too soft ?

Many thanks and HAPPY HOLIDAYS !

          Hi,
          1) Contrast could be acceptable but tail is clearly over-sharpen
          2) Needs a tad more contrast

          Merry Christmas !!!

          Alex

Thanks Alex for your quick reply.

            1) SWISS:I took away some sharpening
            2) D-AHOI: I added a tad of contrast, hoping not to add any noise etc.

            Cheers,
            Christian

Thanks for the speedy turn around.

                1) - no new photo attached. I am strugglng with the fact that "sharpness" is a "0"but that I even get a slight jagging (of the registration) when opening an image in the "Library" and just starting with "Develop", the jagging then gets more pronoucd doing the export. Is any of my basic settings wrong or the export ?
                2) D-AHOI: I added some more light.

                Regards,
                Christian

                  1. couldn't tell you, it seems your workflow is different from mine
                  2. borderline dark/contrast

Thanks dlowwa for the feed-back and Happy Holidays also to you !

                    1) I removed everything in LRC that I think can lead to jaggies. There is still a small amount of it, getting more pronounced when doing the export. Do you have any recomendations for a propper export. These are the vallues I use:
                    1. JPEG
                    2. Quality: 100
                    3. Resize -> Long edge 1280
                    4. Sharpen for Screen
                    5. Amount: Standard
                    2) Added more light and some contrast. If this is not it, then I think it cannot be fixed.

                    Regards,
                    Christian

                      1. horizon (needs a little CCW rotation)
                      2. still likely a contrast rejection (possibly for soft as well)

As for your workflow, I don't use LR, as I alluded to above, but 'jpg quality 100' seems like a good start.

Thanks for the advice dlowwa, I will refrain from working on photos taken under foggy conditions, too difficult to fix.

May I kindly ask you to have an expert look at these 2 photos, recently taken at a sunny day at Engadin Airport:

                        1) OK-XLS Business Jet
                        2) HB-KHC Private Prop

                        Thanks and kind regards,

Borderline oversharpened, but would be ok for me.

Thanks dlowwa. I reduced some sharpening and submitted.

Can you please have a look at these 2 newly processed photos, both early morning arrivals at ZRH:

                            1) Finnair: Contrast ? Noise ? Lack of darkness ?
                            2) UA Star Alliance: Noise ?

                            Anything else ?

                            Many thanks,
