Given the fact that the last picture I uploaded got rejected for noise with a cloudy background I am wondering if these stand a chance ?
Of OYKBM only one will be uploaded, just havenīt decided which one yet.
1. yes, quite noisy. also oversharpened and borderline overexposed.
2. blurry, contrast
3. soft/blurry, contrast
4-5. contrast, noisy
Hi All,
I have experienced that some of my pictures lately have been rejected due to noise because there are clouds on the picture.
All the pictures below is shot with ISO200 which I have always used for the far majority of my pictures so I am honestly surprised that they are catagorised as noisy.
I do know that noise isnīt the only issue on two of the pictures.
Is there any good explanation why the clouds make them noisy ?

Without knowing your camera settings and judging by the look of the noise I would guess it has to do with underexposed originals.
I get where you're coming from. ISO 200 should always be a good bet noise wise. When it isn't I get a little upset.
It's not clouds that cause noise. But when you bring up the shadows in post, a lot of noise previously hidden in the shadows is now exposed and distracting, and dark clouds are repeat offenders. If you use Photoshop CC there's a nice noise reduction tool under Filter>Sharpen>Smart sharpen. It's effective. Just don't use too much.
